I am a professional, gay man who lives in San Francisco, CA, and Austin, TX, with my husband, our two dogs, and a cat. Over the past twenty five years or so, I have held a variety of positions including adjunct professor, ice cream manufacturer, real estate agent, curriculum specialist, entrepreneur/small business owner, and, most recently, the director of education and training with a national organization.
In 2006, I completed my doctorate degree in Health Promotion at the University of Texas at Austin and while I believe there are some serious, and sometimes grim, realities that must be faced, I also believe that it should be approached with a positive attitude and sense of humor. When meeting the many challenges that life and work present me, I prefer a “make it work” approach as opposed to focusing on the many reasons that something cannot be accomplished or on potential reasons for failure. I also like to have fun and have a penchant for whimsical bow ties!
